Operation of upstream inlet air cooling system of gas turbines of Rumaila power plant in Iraq

With the efforts of our colleagues at Rahavard Energy co., the upstream cooling system of GT units 9&10 of Rumaila power plant in Iraq, were put into operation in the third week of June 2023.

The mentioned cooling system is upstream Media evaporative cooler that is able to increase the output power of each of the gas turbines by more than 18%, equivalent to 27 MW at the design point, much more than the project’s guarantee values, which has also provided the satisfaction of the client.
